Campaigning
It's no secret that I am a big advocate for the Black Weblog Awards.
Having my Friday Favecast (FFC) nominated for "Best Podcast" is an added bonus -- even if I wasn't nominated, I would still rep the BWAs regardless because their mission (of celebrating black bloggers) resonates with me.
I debated on whether I would "campaign" during this BWA season. I don't want to come across like I'm just stepping the game up to win a proverbial prize. The truth is that I go hard with my podcast each time I turn on the mic, so it's not about seeking validation as much as simply doing and giving my best. I've tried -- on a few occasions -- to step away from the FFC but it keeps calling me. It's branded as a musical way to encourage and uplift others, when in fact it helps me more than I'm willing to admit.
Why wouldn't I celebrate, promote and encourage more people to experience the FFC?
