Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It feels good to see our men standing up for us. I, too, am sick of the bombardment of negativity regarding black women. It's so easy to dribble baseless accusations and stereotypes about us when there's a media hellbent on representing us in a inaccurate and negative light. Once again, thank you!

Thank you so much for that post. As a black woman, ivy league grad, lawyer, life coach, world traveler, tweeter (@equilawbrium) who is a very far cry from Joel Johnson's portrayal of the black woman he's chosen to stalk, I very much appreciate your response and support. I hope that he and others will choose to view black women as other than data points, sociological experiments, or freak shows. We are people -- a lovely mix of honey, mocha, ebony colored individuals with as much idiosyncrasy, brilliance, talent, ignorance, charm, and diversity as any other group. Goodness, it feels so frustrating that in 2010 one would have to make such an obvious comment.

Wow. I don't even need to say anymore. You were right about everything from what you said to what you said to him. Respect.

Thank you, fave, for this black woman [me] who DOES defy the stereotypes is slightly aggravated by this constant disrespect of not only my gender but my race. And for all the idiots who are going to say that you should take this as a compliment, "would you like to be stereotyped as a sexual object?" Also, to those who will say well what do you mean that you defy the stereotypes - as a college and law school graduate who is a Vice President of a small business that is joint ventured with a blue chip company, I have worked all my life to get to where I am now. And to those who tell me, oh so you think you are better because of that. If you are envious then get your education and shut the hell up. I'm so tired of the envy, greed and insecurity from all of you. I deal with this insensitivity almost everyday. I wish you could walk a mile in my shoes to understand the mental anguish a lot of us go through but we bottle the hurt and try to be productive without complaining.

Thank you so much, Fave. I appreciate this more than you know.

End of my rant. Putting on my happy face too.
