The Body and Soul of Love

Love has a body and soul just as we do.

The BODY of love is the "feeling" that makes us soar in the clouds or wallow in the mire. It's euphoric, depressing, unstable, sporadic, invigorating and draining. Like most minerals, love is essential to our proper function but can be toxic if too much is ingested (re: self love).

The SOUL of love is the "decision" that transcends circumstance. It's secure, mature, wise, unwavering and often misunderstood. The decision of love dwells within the body in order to stabilize the whole experience. This is the adhesive that bonds our best friends, spouses, children, etc. to us - regardless of the situation.

Without the decision to love, the feeling of love cannot reach the peak of its greatness. Without the feeling of love, the decision to love is not always enough to incentivize our minds to stay true.

The proper cohabitation of the two (feeling and decision) is one of the many balancing acts of life as it relates to relationships.
